= Kerberos for OS/2 (and eComStation) = [[PageOutline]] Kerberos is a network authentication protocol designed around the concept of granting tickets to clients, where each ticket is valid for access to certain resources on the server or network. Developed originally at MIT in the 1980's, Kerberos is a mature, stable, standard protocol, used by a variety of different networking technologies, including Samba. This is the home of the Kerberos for OS/2 project, which encompasses both the MIT implementation and the Heimdal implementation, as used in Samba 4. ''Note: If using the !NetDrive Samba Plugin for eCS (OS/2) version 3.0 or above with Kerberos authentication, you will need the Heimdal Kerberos implementation and not MIT.'' == Official Releases == Until RPMs are available, this is the official repository for these packages (ZIP only). === Additional software prerequisites === It is strongly recommended to install from the WPI packages if not using yum/rpm. ||'''kLibc 0.6.6 Library'''||[ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/gcc/libc-0_6_6-csd6.wpi WPI]||kLibc Runtime libraries required by all Kerberos installations. You may view existing tickets, add comments to existing ones, and create new tickets using the corresponding buttons at the top of every page. If you want to submit a new bug or request a feature, please use the Search function first to make sure there is no ticket for this task already created. If you have not added your email address to your account profile, you may not be notified of updates to your tickets, so please revisit the [http://svn.netlabs.org/kerberos/report/14 Feedback analysis] as often as possible. If we leave comment and don't get feedback from the ticket creator, we will close the ticket after some time. In order to create a new ticket or comment on an existing one, you will need to login with your Netlabs login id. If you do not have a login id, you may request one at http://www.netlabs.org/en/site/member/member.xml. == Mailinglist == * Coming soon == License == * BSD 3 Clauses alike. == Credits == * Paul Smedley (aka Smedles), for the current ports and for the early work * Bart van Leeuwen, for the early work * Lewis Rosenthal (aka Lewisr), for testing and project management * The Samba for eComStation team * all we missed, and all who will be added individually, in due time
