Kerberos is a network authentication protocol designed around the concept of granting tickets to clients, where each ticket is valid for access to certain resources on the server or network. Developed originally at MIT in the 1980's, Kerberos is a mature, stable, standard protocol, used by a variety of different networking technologies, including Samba.

This is the home of the Kerberos for OS/2 project, which encompasses both the MIT implementation and the Heimdal implementation, as used in Samba 4.
