#194 | unknown | T61 issues
Description |
There seem to be a variety of issues with T61 Thinkpads. Though I would open a new ticket to disuss them. I am running with SNAP 505, ACPI 3.06, and APM 1.21. The screen is fine when wide resolution is enabled (1280 x 800). The beer battery widget is rather strange. When eCenter opens it shows the wall plug icon and 100% (which is correct) then immediate decides that no battery is in the machine. When I get a chance, I will back off to APM 1.20 and report back. UNIAUD without any parameters traps the machine. With the /C:ICH parm, the machine no longer traps, but it fails to initialize. I have the latest ALSA resynch (2008-01-28) installed. #196 | Unsupported Version | ACPI Not work on AMD 4600 X2 AM2 System (AMD 790X Chipset)
Description |
This system can be made to boot and run eCS 1.2MR OK after a bit of tweaking. It will also work with APIC.PSD loaded but no /SMP switch. Adding /SMP (with or without /R and /CD) causes machine to hang at boot logo. Attached is log file from COM port. Using ACP 310012008. Please let me know if you want me to carry out any further debug actions - grateful for your help! :) Regards, Stephen |

#214 | unknown | ACPI should notify user if critical troubles
Description |
If ACPI initialization failed then ACPI.PSD or APM.ADD or.. ACPIHLP.SYS (ACPI helper) should write a message: "ACPI initialization failed". This will economize time for user. He is spending one week to experiments. It's better notify him immediately. If there are errors on ACPI tables interpretation then it's necessary notify the user. Is it easy to implement? When Intel ACPI CA code is updated, we can insert this analysis blocks of code again. |
